Feasible Evaluation and Implementation of Shunt Active Filter for Harmonic Mitigation in Induction Heating System

This paper proposes a shunt active filter (SAF) for harmonic mitigation and reactive power compensation in an induction heating (IH) system. The high-frequency switching the resonant inverter of IH system generates considerable number harmonics. latter flow back to supply side causes wide variety problems. predominant ones are deterioration quality, distortion grid voltage, malfunctioning protective equipment. These harmonics need be attenuated as per IEEE 519-1992 519-2014 standards. To overcome these problems, SAF based on modified version instantaneous theory was placed between Moreover, proposed model could work unbalanced non-sinusoidal input voltage conditions, well dynamic conditions with changing reference currents. feasibility SAF-based verified by series simulation results comparative analysis THD quality issues were successfully addressed, which signifies ability effectiveness mitigate problems caused enhance factors.
